Frequently Asked Questions

Picture
Following is a sample of some of the frequently asked questions from our customers. All our horses are unique so if you have a question that is not address in the below or elsewhere on our site please feel free to contact us to discuss your individual circumstance.

Q. Is the material PVC?
A. No. Forget that stiff plastic feel that you get with PVC bridles. Although synthetic, our material is around 20 times stronger than leather but is beautifully soft and flexible like leather and won’t soak up sweat or dirt. The best thing about our materials is that you do not need to oil it, just hose or wipe clean and the stainless steel fittings won’t rust. We thought that you would prefer riding more than cleaning.

Q. I have seen similar bitless bridles around for cheaper prices. Why is yours more expensive?
A. Quality! Properly cared for your NoBit Bridle™ should last you for a good 15 years. We back this up with our 5 year warranty against defective manufacture and materials. Our bridles also come with a set of matching reins and the price includes postage and handling (within Australia). We are also available to help with any transition to bitless queries you may have and can also customise the fit of your bridle to suit the individual face shape of your horse as needed.

Q. My horse pulls. Can your bridle help with this?
A. Yes. We have around a 98% success rate with pullers. A lot of the time we are finding that the horse is uncomfortable with the bit and the pulling is them trying to get rid of it. Take away the bit, take away the pulling. We do acknowledge that this is not always the cause and if you do not experience any difference after making the change to bitless we would recommend a further examination along the lines of saddle fit, back & general health problems, training issues etc.

Q. If your bridle doesn’t work for my horse can I send it back?
A. Absolutely. Although the majority of horses love our bridle we understand that it may not suit every horse so that is why we offer a 30 day money back satisfaction guarantee. If your horse does not love our bridle just send it back to us within 30 days and we will happily refund your money.

Q. I’m only a beginner so isn’t it true that your bridle would not be any good for me?
A. Not true. Our bridle works on full-head pressure and not on the sensitive mouth area, allowing you to get your balance without pulling on your horse’s mouth. The NoBit Bridle™ will still offer you all the control and response you need so in fact it is perfect for the new rider.

Q. How much re-training will I have to do?
A. Very little and in some cases none at all. Most horses pick it up within minutes where some others may take a little time to get used to it. For example, one of my horses stopped when I pulled left and moved off when I pulled right. No real problem though as he caught on after about 20 minutes. Every horse has a different learning level, the same as humans so just give your horse as much time as he or she needs to get used this new piece of equipment.

Q. It is hard to fit?
A. Not at all. The first fitting will be a little bit different to what you are used to but you will pick it up in no time at all. We do send full fitting and care instructions to you with your bridle to help you through the first fitting but if you have any problems or questions just give us a call.

Q. My horse seems to hate the bridle and is always hard to catch. Can this bridle help change his mind?
A. This is quite a common question and I can report that our customers have seen a big improvement in their horses after making the change to our bridle (where the bit has been the contributing factor). In fact, one particular customer reported that where his horse used to hide at the back of his yard in the morning he is now waiting at the gate and ready to go, much happier in his work.

Q. I do dressage with my horse. Can I use your bridle in competitions?
A. Unfortunately at this time you cannot use our bridle in dressage competitions, but don’t let that stop you practising in it. We have customers who are using it and have reported a dramatic improvement in their horses improvement that they now take into the show arena. In fact, if you take a look at our Feedback page you will notice one of our customers has just competed in an Adult Riders Dressage test and came second – just goes to show you don’t need a bit to get your horse to perform.

Q. How long will it take to arrive once I order?
A. Our bridles and accessories are sent via Express Post (airmail for overseas orders) so depending on stock levels, where you live and which payment option you choose you should receive your bridle within a week of ordering (for black coloured bridles) and about 1-2 weeks for some colours. Overseas orders should expect delivery times of approximate 2 weeks.
